HALF DAY GRAVEL BIKE RIDE

What you get

This half-day ride is ideal for an easy few hour’s relaxed riding on tracks and trails, linked by quiet country lane. Our routes give a taste of the beauty of the Peak District and Derbyshire. Hills are kept to a minimum.

 

Specifically….

  • varying terrain and fantastic scenery

  • Off road as much as possible, with road sections sticking to quieter lanes

  • Expert guiding and leadership

  • riding advice on technique, kit and bike set up

  • a café stop

  • We will be out for about 3- 4 hours

 

What you need to bring

  • A suitable gravel or hybrid bike – (hire options available)

  • A helmet (hire helmets available)

  • A spare inner tube, tyre levers and pump to fit your own bike (provided with hire bikes)

  • The right clothes to cover all weathers (weather conditions can change quickly so don’t forget your waterproof)

  • Snacks and a drink, plus café money for coffee and cake

  • No prior experience is necessary, but come with a sense of adventure and be prepared to have fun and maybe get a bit muddy.

FULL DAY GRAVEL BIKE RIDE

What you get

This 1-day ride is ideal for fitter beginners and/or regular riders. Mostly riding off road on tracks, trails and canal paths, linked by quiet county roads, we travel at a relaxed pace. The Peak District and Derbyshire is a hilly area so expect rolling climbs and descents, but nothing too severe.

 

Specifically….

  • varying terrain and fantastic scenery

  • Off road as much as possible, with road sections sticking to quieter lanes

  • Expert guiding and leadership

  • riding advice on technique, kit and bike set up

  • the de rigueur café stop for lunch

  • We will be out for about 6-7 hours

 

What you need to bring

  • A suitable gravel or hybrid bike – (hire options available)

  • A spare inner tube, tyre levers and pump to fit your own bike (provided with hire bikes)

  • A helmet (hire helmets available)

  • The right clothes for the weather (a lightweight waterproof)

  • A drink and some snacks, plus café money for coffee and lunch

  • A phone in case of emergencies (not compulsory) and to take photos of those fabulous views.

  • No prior experience is necessary, but come with a reasonable level of fitness and a sense of adventure.

BIG DAY OUT GRAVEL BIKING

A big gravel bike, one day adventure, guiding you along some of the best gravel trails in The Peak District. Ride between 100km and 120km with plenty of metres climbed

What you get

This epic, challenging 1-day ride is ideal for adventurous, fit and intermediate + cyclists who regularly ride their bikes or ride for several hours at a time. This ride will cover a long distance and, as the Peak District is the “home of the hill climb”, will contain a lot of climbing and descending. Expect long climbs, short steep climbs, some of which will be off road, and steep twisty, sometimes rough and loose technical descents.

The Peak District includes lots of varied gravel bike terrain, including rough bridleways, cobbles, forest tracks, white roads and the world famous disused railways of Monsal, Tissington and High Peak trails. We stitch together some of the very best bits to give you a day packed with highlights.

Full van support with brew stops (included in the price) and cafe lunch (own expense)

 

Meeting at 9am at Cafe Adventure, Hope.

  • Van support, with the now famous Peak Cycling mobile cafe

  • Multiple climbs and descents on varying terrain

  • Technical riding

  • Expert guiding and leadership

  • We will be out for about 8 - 10 hours and cover 60-80 miles (100km -120km) with over 1500m of climbing

 

What you need to bring

  • A suitable gravel bike – (hire options available)

  • A helmet - compulsory (hire helmets available)

  • The right clothes to cover all weathers (weather conditions can change quickly in the Peak District so don’t forget your waterproof)

  • Spare inner tubes, tyre levers and a pump for your own bike (provided with hire bikes)

  • Food and drink for a long day out, plus café money

  • A phone in case of emergencies (not compulsory) and to take photos of those fabulous views

  • Prior biking experience; you need to be comfortable riding up and down hills on various terrain, and fit enough to ride for several hours in a day.

A big gravel bike two day adventure staying at YHA accommodation in shared rooms

Criss cross along some of the best gravel trails in The Peak District
