New website launched!!

Welcome to our first newsletter of 2019, and after a period of absence from the social media and blogging world.

Winter has seen Graham being treated for a dislocated shoulder from a freak gardening accident (ouch), which has made cycling and typing hard. He has managed to drink tea and eat cake, so now he’s back on the bike, you’ll see his mileage step up and waist line creep back to normal!

Paul has been busy building an online booking platform for our website, which went live a few weeks ago. We hope you like it? Although we can take bookings and payment on line now, we still welcome direct (email) bookings from customers looking to get out and ride, and also bespoke tour planning if you can’t see what you want on the website. We also managed to fit in a few half day gravel rides, like the one below.

https://www.peakcyclinguk.com/ for dates and details

Coming up in 2019

  • kids holiday cycling based at The Cow Shed, Dale Abbey returns at Easter and at least initially runs every Wednesday during the holidays

  • Our programme of half and whole day gravel, road and MTB rides kicks off in March (hang on, that’s today - eek, where did Winter go?)

  • We have a series of what we are calling “Big Days Out” on road, gravel and MTB across the summer; these are fully van supported and long days in the saddle, not for the faint hearted but should be a challenge for you

  • Our first ever Big Tour runs this June - Scottish Islands and Highlands is a week long road trip taking in some absolute gems, hopscotching across the Outer Hebrides then returning via Skye and The Highlands. I’d love to tell you how to book, but this one SOLD OUT within a few days, before we even had chance to publicise it! So, we will be running it again next year, and if you’re not already on our mailing list and fancy joining us in 2020, please register now

  • Our inaugural Shrigley Summer Classic in partnership with Shrigley Hall Hotel is (June 21st) - this Big Day Out includes a stay at the hotel, dinner B&B and will be a Gran Fondo Plus road route. Interested? Places are limited and if you get in touch by email before the end of March there’s a small discount for returning customers and 2018 Ride 4 Sight riders

  • Inspired by last autumn’s Vision Express Ride 4 Sight, brew-van driver Fred has signed up to ride the Velo Birmingham and raise money for CHECT. How about that? If you are able to drop him a bit of sponsor money, please click here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Alfred-Bogyor2. More on CHECT here.

We hope there is enough here to inspire you to click through and take a peek at the new website. If not, perhaps we can tempt you to come and try one of our new road or gravel hire bikes on a guided ride; we think these are the first of their kind in The Peak District and they have not been ridden yet. Want first dibs? Have a look at our road and gravel dates and get your booking in fast, as first ride can only happen once.

Thanks for reading, we wish you a happy and successful year of cycling and hope to see you on a tour or course. If of course you no longer wish to stay on our mailing list, please just drop a quick note to hello@peakcyclinguk.com and tell us to pedal off into the sunset and we'll leave your inbox alone.
